{Uncertainty and fear rule this world}.  At least that was what Ben thought after the past series of events.  He had a condition well the cells of a pokemon or animal took root in your body and grew.  This condition was not a cancer were rouge cells grew and overtook your body.  Tumors grew and grew, leaving useless cells to grow until they killed the host, but this was different. The new cells grew like tumors at first but then seemed to disperse and spread throughout the body.  They then formed themselves into fully functional but inhuman organs and features, features that somehow looked identical to the person’s immune system.  What caused this condition was not known, and there was little way to tell what they ultimately would do to a person.  As far as Ben knew, pokemon growths had never killed a human yet, but short of that they could do about anything.  He had been infected with cells from a rare vaporeon breed, and so far they had expanded all along his body, replacing much of his skin, and altering his hands and feet.  He had also grown webbing between this toes and fingers, and his left hand was the only one that was not fully webbed.  In addition to this he had also grown a large tail ending with a tail fin, he could not yet control the limb, but could now feel.  He still had not gotten over how shocking the sensation was, it was a jolt when it first started, but now it felt natural, and putting his hand on it did not feel different then if he had touched his leg.  In his case, his mind completely accepted the tail as his own, and in reality his subconscious was very protective of the tail.  Part of this was practical, his tail was very thick and attached directly to his spine, if it was to be suddenly removed, he would probably die.  However, that did not seem to be the only factor.  Ben was not truly afraid of the limb, or even that vaporeon cells were growing inside him.  Vaporeon was one of his favorite pokemon, and he knew the special variant he was becoming were strong and had many abilities.  He had also avoided the worst of it, he still had his arms and legs, appeared to be retaining a human stance, and so far had retained his mental ability.  Sense he had escaped these undesirable outcomes, he was actually mildly excited to see where it would lead, and what he would now be able to do.   No one else around him seemed to share his views here.  The person on the same side of him was probably going to end up like him, but through the pain of growing a shell and appeared to stop caring about the world at all anymore.  The person across and ahead of him was becoming a fish, and was clearly traumatized and depressed, and she no longer had any legs, and her arms and body were covered in scales.  Directly across from him the subject no longer even knew she was ever human, her body was mostly human still, but she had clearly lost her mind.  She did seem to be fine with things though, in her own altered way.    Those changes were not the reasons he thought that.  The reason was that the condition was contagious and painful.  There was little reliable information about the condition, and the masses were terrified of it.   Because of this, he and the others had been rounded up and were being transported to a special facility to be quarantined with the rest.  His “group” had been inside the tuck for an entire day now.  They were inside small bunk/cells on the sides of the truck with barely enough room to sit up in.  The cells had been equipped with all the equipment that would be required for an extended stay, even if some of it was uncomfortable and he preferred not to describe it.   The cells were also equipped with an array of hidden electronics to measure a person’s ability, and automatically gave out food at preset times in accordance with the persons perceived abilities.   His tray of food would pass for normal inside a premade kit, and he ate it with a fork like a human.  This had not been the case with the others.  The oshawott across form him probably had no idea what a fork was, and after some time the machine automatically sent out pet bowls full of food pellets and water, which she actually seemed to enjoy as she ate them.  He had no idea what happened to the squirtle, but had seen the goldeen girl.  She had been too depressed or disoriented to eat on her own, and an angry group of men wearing protective gear had entered the room and held her down with metal poles, and then stabbed her with an IV tube before attaching a protective piece over it and leaving, presumably injecting her with sugar, and maybe some type of drug.   These actions both frightened and angered Ben, but he was too afraid to do anything as one of the men was armed.  So he had just moved to the back of his cell and tried to hide in a shadow and act like he was not even there.  He had then went back to eating his food, as the angry people had come in when she did not touch her food.

As he finished eating, he heard the trucks engine start.  He had heard a lot more details about the thing starting then he did the day before, but it still not like the one time.  He already knew about how an engine worked and how they were made to a point, and this time the details were just because he could hear more sound for his human mind to ponder.   In reality, he was pleased with his hearing now, in the span of the past 2 days, or really last 12 hours, he had gone from average human levels to hearing the driver sit down in his chair and buckle his seatbelt, even with the engine running in the background, as well as an airtight chamber around him.  This massive increase in sensitivity was not the only effect, he know heard things from his entire body, not just 2 vulnerable holes on his head, he heard nose come from his hands, feet, back, and even his new tail instead of his human ears.  Over the past hour or so his human ears had changed a bit as well, with his left ear becoming the fin he knew it would be.  The inner hole and eardrum had still not been changed, but he could tell it was starting to lose its human function.  He could hear just fine form the patches of flexible skin taking its place, and knew vaporeon did not actually have eardrums so they could handle pressure changes, or at least the variant he was becoming did.  He still called the growing fin his ear, as it was focused on hearing, and his mind still wanted its old human labels.  The ear fin was more sensitive than the rest of his body, and was better at noticing faint and high pitched sounds traveling through the air then his normal skin, which was unbelievably good at hearing low pitched sounds through the ground, walls, or water.  Also now noticed that everyone’s voices sounded a lot deeper, especially his.  He was aware that your own voice always sounds deeper than it is to you because you hear it though your bones as well, but the effect was now amplified.
He barely noticed the truck start to move as he continued his thoughts.
Another thought then materialized in his head, those improvements to his hearing were not all that had happened.  These improvements explained how he knew about the engine and the driver because he knew what an engine sounded like, and had heard belt buckles before.  He would still have noticed these things before the condition if he was closer, but that did not explain everything.  He had somehow used sound to gain a picture of the area around him, and learn things about the other people.  But however much he tried he could not comprehend how he learned so much, or even what sound he even heard.  He had heard at least a few thousand new sounds sense waking up this morning, but had no real idea about what they were or even were they came from, but… … in some ways this was not true, he sporadically would have one or more alien sounds enter his conscious mind, and somehow know what they were, almost like they came with labels.  This was really hard to make sense of, and it seemed like there was another part of his body or mind processing the sound for him, and then sometimes inserting it into his thoughts.  In reality, this thought terrified him, the concept of his mind being controlled or manipulated by another intelligence was fighting, as he could have no real idea of its agenda.  The other part was possibly worse, if it was his own mind being changed without his knowledge, then it would probably get worse as the change continued, and he would have no way to fight it or know if he would still be himself.  He shook his head a bit after those thoughts, but in reality, it did not seem like that, the sounds were relatively random, and usually were along the lines or something moving, a creak in some type of material, or someone’s heartbeat or footsteps.   These were all just environmental things that he could have gained elsewhere, and were usually things he thought about or was curious about… even if the metal stuff was odd.   Although, he could not know for sure, it still could be in intelligence, just one without an agenda, or one that’s entire purpose was sound, many computer parts were built like this.   The other thing he noted was that these sounds usually entered his mind unobtrusively, many could enter without disrupting his thoughts, like 7 had during this (paragraph), they could be distracting, but really were not any worse than loud noises would be beforehand.  Strangely, it was almost less intrusive then loud noise were, but he did not know if this meant something or if he had just started to get used to them.   This meant that it was probably not a major alteration or his brain, the information entered his mind easily, and did not seem to push things away, and if it was the result of changes to his brain structure it would cause more disruption, as nothing was that precise.  A major change would cause a disruption, and it would mess his thoughts up more than was done… … at least, this was what he believed.   There was one exception to this though, the time he had learned the other person was a squirtle.  That one time he had gained a frightening about of information from these new sounds, and while observing the other person, his mind seemed to be completely focused on the topic, enough that he did not notice what he was doing until afterwords.  After this, his mind felt like it was empty, leading him to think he had focused his entire being on the information.  Things went back to normal quickly after that, and within 15 seconds his mind seemed the same if had always been.  He had never been able to focus like that again, even if he tried.
The last thought brought up another odd thing.  Everyone in the truck with him was becoming a water type.  He wondered if this was just chance, or if it was something more sinister.  The trucks were meant to pick infected people up as quickly as possible, but although there was some logic in grouping them by type there was another bigger problem.  In the early stages of the condition, it was impossible to tell what someone was going to become.  Ben knew that the condition was usually reported the instant it could be diagnosed.  There were a verity of symptoms at that point, and that was when it would be reported.  It was a major crime to not report the condition, even if it was a family member infected and not yourself.  This meant that the condition was reported very quickly, as you would often have to explain if someone other they yourself reported you, unless you were a kid.  This made it very unlikely that they gathered any information on what the subjects would become.  On top of that, he knew he did not give out any information about how he was affected, just who he was and that he had the condition.  So, how could they know to pick up all water types?  Did it have to be chance, or was there some connection, like the area the lived in.  A darker possibility also presented itself, do they know something else we don’t.   He knew most of the information they gave out about the condition was questionable and meant to deter panic, and possibly try to soften the uncertainty for the infected.  However, he was a researcher and was told to study the condition along with the rest of the lab.  He was pretty sure the information he had learned was more accurate, but as far as he knew it was impossible to start to know what you would become until after the main stage.  After the main stage, you could probably figure out what kind of cells were growing in your body, as there was almost always some external changes, and you had to of come into contact with the pokemon beforehand in your life.  Although as far as he knew, it was not the pokemons fault you were infected, you just needed to have a tiny amount of DNA inside or on you, but this was not the cause.  But before the main stage it was impossible, and potentially not even defined yet, but this was also hard to prove.  The early stage was very short, and only lasted a few hours, so you really did not have much ability to do anything, plus you felt terrible. Before the true onset there was not really any way to know you were infected, you would be much hungrier then normal as the body seemed to be building up energy to change, but that was about it, and it only lasted a few days, meaning you would not be able to gain much warning form it even if you did realize it and rule out everything else.  But none of this would allow them to predict it.  A much darker question and thought then appeared.  Could someone be causing this, and controlling what people became.  It might actually be an effective way to make people disappear, but as far as he knew there was not a pattern, or even any major events to require it.   Sense this line of thought did not make much sense anyway he dropped it thinking {its chance unless something else happens}.

(RL note, I am calling this whole thing a draft now and will skip forward a bit, I plan on redoing the entire thing to make it smother over time, but I still need to get to a point in the storyline for other parts to work out)
<ROUGH DRAFT TIME COMPRESSION>
The truck continues for a bit and then the people are loaded into a boat while still in there sealed shipping container.  All 4 experience changes and it would be talked about.  The goldeen person is transfer to a different cell full of water and it is replace with an open bunk.  They meet another infected person who had been at the island for some time and talk a bit.  Boat then docks and people were inspected by a machine and given new clothing.
(this will be real story in the redone version if there are enough people to get it started) (also these () parts would not be in the story and won’t be in the redone version, but will help me get this done in time to ask people about this story before the edit) (NOTE, there is still a lot more story after this)
</ROUGH DRAFT TIME COMPRESSION>
(note, some stuff here would have been said in the other part)
Ben the finished packing his stuff into his bags including most of his new clothing he was given.  The new clothing was actually pretty comfortable compared to his improvised or human clothing as they had purpose built holes for his tail.    He had decided to not even attempt to figure out the stings on the shoes he was given.  After all, he was a water type, and would most likely stay in wet places.
He again noted that how heavy his stuff was with his backpack and all the bags he had attached, but as with before, did not want to leave anything behind.
The others got up as well, and took their stuff.  The oshawott person had not really brought anything but the squirtle had a reasonable amount of stuff, but unlike ben it still fell within the reasonable range for bags.
A buzzer then went off signaling that it was time for them to leave.  They left the now unsealed container and walked through a tunnel.  Their guide walked with the oshawott holding her arm so she would not run off.  Unlike the men from before, this guide was able to not be forceful.  A group of armed men like before also walked with the group, and told them were to go, again sounding like storm troopers.
Ben covered his eyes with his hand as he got outside.  This had been the first time he had been outside sense being picked up.  Judging by the sun, it was about midafternoon here.  No one should know the exact location of the island, even though ben was pretty sure where it was.  The island was in a remote part of the ocean, and had relatively mild weather on the surface and extremely unusually conditions under the surface.   The water around the island was actually fresh water and its salt content varied slightly throughout the year. More surprisingly the salt content varied by what side of the island you were on. One side was almost like a lake, were the other side was a normal ocean.  The island was also surrounded by strange water currents, and these were part of the reason for the lack of salt on one side.  But more importantly for the current use, they made travel through these waters VERY unpredictable and unsafe except for a few condors.  This meant that boats entering or leaving would be easy to track, thus preventing escape.  The place was also littered with shipwrecks to act as a warning.  Before being used to quarantine the infected, it was home to a small research fancily and a military base and runway.  Of course, both of these were now used for the quarantine.
As his group left the docks and could look around he was shocked.  The place was not anything like he expected.  The island was huge and parts were covered in forests as well as small lakes.  They were being brought forward about a half mile to a large set of buildings surrounded by a small fence.  He had truly expected to end up crammed in a small cell in some maximum security prison surrounded by turrets based on his experiences over the past days, and the reactions and fear of the humans.   The compound was nothing like he expected, and would be easy to get out of.  Although he figured it would not really mean much.  Only a small group of powerful flying types could get anywhere from this island, and although water types like himself could try and swim away, they would get nowhere unless they were true fish pokemon.
They then reached a gate were men wearing protective gear stood behind a desk and talked to the incoming subject’s one on one.  The group split up and he was told to walk over to gate number 6, after a quick glance around he found it.  He walked over and the man inside read a file and then gave him an armband to wear and gave another person some instructions.  The man then said “you have maintained the use of your hands as well as the ability to understand human instructions, because of this you are capable of being given more than the average resident, but you will also be expected to help out with various tasks, if you refuse or are unable they you will be relocated” to Ben before telling the other person to take him.   The man gave Ben no time to accept or refuse his offer at all, and in reality no time to even react, but he then picked up another file.  Remembering the experiences with humans in the past he just quickly left to follow the other person.
As he left the gate he was again slightly surprised to see the other worker.  He was a humanoid buizel that looked to be in his late teens.  His form was similar to Bens, with pokemon features covering most of his body.  But he had an overall human stance, and probably also had use of his hands like Ben given his assignment to help.  He seemed to be in good spirits as he guided ben to a 1 story rectangular building with curved edges.  There were a series of doors with strange handles lining the side.   The man continued to move quickly and did not really give Ben time to look around in detail.
They then arrived at a door near the curved end and his guide then placed his arm over some sort of sensor, reviling that he also had to wear a wristband.  A light turned on then and a tone played from the sensor, although Ben could also hear something move inside the door.  The guide then operated a strange multistep handle and opened the door motioning for Ben to follow him.
Ben then walked inside the room.  It was mostly up like an apartment with 2 beds on opposite sides of the wall at right angles to the door, the one to his left was empty, while the one to his right had various items on it.   Understanding that he was supposed to go to the left he moved and set his stuff down on the bed being careful to not drop it.  Ben quickly looked around to gather information before having to talk then.  The room was relatively small by normal standards where he lived, but it was not that cramped.  The beds were about the size of the cells he had arrived in, but were set up like normal beds.  Along the wall against the bed there was as desk with drawers in it and a box that had a picture of a strange chair on it.  There was 1 free power outlet there along with a note he could not read form this distance.  Beyond that there was a short wall separating the main area from the rest.  The wall only went about 1/4th of the way out from the side though.  This arrangement was mirrored on the other side, although his new roommate had set up the chair in a normal arrangement, except that the backrest was just metal poles until half way up.
That was all he could tell from first glance and ben then heard the other person make a noise so he looked at him.  He was appeared to be observing Bens form in detail and said “hello, looks like you will be living here with me now, my name is Brice” still seeming upbeat to Ben, although ben wondered if he really felt that way about his life now.  Ben then replied “ok… … my name is Ben” while also taking a bit of time to examine Brice’s state.  He was not planning on doing this right away as it might seem invasive, but form Brice’s actions he guessed that it was not uncommon to stare and observe other infected.  Brice was basically an anthro like ben, but unlike Ben he had a full muzzle instead of a human face, and he stood with a slight bend.  He wore a vest that appeared to have items in it, and was covered in fur.  He stood barefoot like Ben and had large feet then a human, but they were not excessive like the oshawott’s beforehand.  They were covered in fur and Ben assumed they were also webbed like his own, after all buizel had similarities to otters, even if they were officially sea weasels.  Although unlike Ben, his legs were shorter than a humans should be, and this could explain his stance. He wore nothing along his waist so that his tails would be unobstructed, but his fur thankfully covered his body well.
Ben did not notice anything but fur as his eyes moved up towards the bottom of the vest, but did note that his fur looked surprisingly strait and smooth. His vest obscured his chest, but his arms were uncovered.  His arms aligned with human proportions much better than his legs, although they still seemed a tiny bit shorter.  Ben noticed the detail on his fur again now, as on his arms it appeared to be roughly the same length for the entire arm in addition to being oddly straight.  The fur on this wrists looked different, and Ben then realized that it was actually shorted then the arm fur, but was kept at the same level as the arm, making the fur seem very smooth.  Because of this feature Ben guessed that his arms were thinner than normal, but that his hands were not, and the fur on his wrists was shorter to hide this and look clean.  Brice’s hands were about the size you would expect from a human his size, he had 4 fingers that were webbed together fully on each hand, and his thumb were human shaped, they had some webbing between them, but only about half way up.  His hands were covered in short fur that also appeared smooth.
As Ben moved his eyes back to Brice’s main body he noticed the fins along his arms.  As expected Ben saw the large yellow disk wrapped around Brice’s neck.  To Ben, this disk seemed like it would be extremely unconformable, it was far thicker than the fin forming around his own neck, and almost looked like it would strangle him.  Ben knew it wouldn’t though, it was meant to be filled up to float on the surface of the water, and could then be emptied to dive quickly. All buzzle had this feature, and their bodies were designed around it, it would not restrict his breathing even if it was full.  He also knew that natural buzzle seemed to think highly of their floatation sacks, so he did not comment about it.  Brice’s head did not look human at all, it was clearly a buzzles face, with little to show it was ever human.
Having completed his inspection of his roommate Ben glanced around the room again.  He now noticed that there as an array of combs and brushes on Brice’s desk that he probably spent a lot of time with.  Brice noticed that Ben was distracted again and said “sorry, the rest of the stuff is this way” and guided Ben past the wall segments.
This part of the room was also separated into sections, with a refrigerator on the side of Ben’s bed, and a table with items and a sink on the other side.  There was a bathroom against the back wall as well as a separate place for a large shower.  The shower was almost its own room, and had various mini selves and sprayers inside of it.  when he walked in it to look around he notice that the drain was not really on the bottom, but that there was about 3cm of water on the ground, and then a slit on the walls for it to drain out of.  This confused him a bit, but it was kind of nice to have his feet wet.  Ben the noticed that there were bottles around the sleeves containing various soaps.  Brice then said “there is plenty of water here, but you might want to go first, I tend to take a while” while slightly looking at the hair that remained on top of Ben’s head.  Ben then nodded and asked “so, how long does all that actually take” knowing that Brice probably spent a lot of time grooming his fur.  Brice then laughed a bit and said “pretty long, it takes a lot of time to wash this much hair” still looking at Ben’s remaining hair.  Ben had never really put much time into his hair as a human, and although he washed it frequently, he almost never used a comb, and in reality, he expected the rest of his hair to fall out soon as it would not grow on his pokemon skin.  To Ben, the loss of hair did not mean much other than that he could get sunburn on his head.  Anyway his head fin would make it so he did not really look bald.  But he could tell Brice cared a lot more about his hair and fur.
After he finished explaining the room Brice brought Ben back to the door and showed him how to open it.  The handle was complex, and was possibly that way to make sure the occupant had use of their hands and the ability to comprehend human machines.
Brice then explained that he was expected to show Ben around and explain things to him.  As they left the room Brice explained that they were within the main water type area, and that there were separate areas for the “residents” around the compound separate by types.  These type areas were usually separate into 2 sections, one that was accessible to the entire compound but was focused on the one type, few people actually lived in these sections and they were used during the day.  The other section was closed off from the others, and you could only enter these sections if you were assigned to live in them.  According to Brice this was done to prevent those who were heavily changed from intimating those who their type was strong against, like grass to water or water to fire.  Some of the sections also had another special spot within them for the residents that needed special non-human living conditions.  The only example he had of this was the underwater section in the water area were fish pokemon lived.
Brice then said “These are some of the places we are expected to work,  the main reason is that the place does not have enough workers, but also because they think it is easier to tell you or me to do something underwater then to have divers do it. “
Ben knew this was probably right, he and Brice could just jump in to work in the water, and he should be able to work deep underwater easily, as even with air tanks there was a limited amount of time you can be underwater safely, and this did not apply to him.
Brice then quietly added “and their divers are not willing to enter a pool were we spend a lot of time” under his breath.  This was probably not meant for anyone to hear, but it was still surprisingly clear to Ben.
Brice then shrugged and said “so far I have been the one to work in the deep pool, but although I am a great swimmer you will probably do it as your endurance down there is way better”.
Ben first thought {if he is right do I even have an endurance, vaporeon can spend as long underwater as they want}.  Although he replied “maybe, but I am not sure if I can actually breath underwater, I have never got to test it. “  But it did not seem to change anything.
Brice then continued to show ben around the water area while noting the possible things he would be expected to do.  None of the tasks seemed that big or time consuming mostly, and they were usually interacting with other infected when human workers did not want to.
Ben was again surprised by the size of the compound as he looked around.  Within the water area there was a variety of ground types, form man made to grasslands to sand and even simulated rocky islands and cliffs.  In between this there was an even larger variety of water.  There were several pools of varying depth, including some with no edges.  There were also a variety of simulated lakes and ponds, and Brice said that some even had machinery to keep populations on biological fish and plants alive in them, and to replace them if removed.  The lakes and ponds also had varying water conditions ranging from being as clear as the pools to being almost solid with algae and plants. On the far end of the area there was a very large body of water that Brice said was the deep pool.  This body of water was 100ft deep at one point, but actually varied in depth a lot, with stepped changes.  According to Brice, it also contained an underwater adaptation of hosing building that he lived in for fully aquatics that had some human left in them.
Ben just keep taking things, mostly visual but also about the ambient sounds and distortions as his new abilities influenced him.  He did not consciously notice that he was gathering sounds into his memory of the place even though it took a good bit of his brainpower, because of this he did not comment or even draw conclusions until he was bright to the next areas.
The next area he was brought into was the “common water area”, and it was designed to be water based, but was open to the main area allowing non-water types to enter.   This area looked more like a city water park, with a main pool and lots of flat space, there also appeared to be water jets in the ground, but they were not on at the moment.   There were also some chairs and tables set up, but a greater amount of boxes with pictures of tables and chairs on them, meaning you had to set it up to use it.  As with before his mind used sounds to shape his perception as well.  This time Ben became aware of this though, as he learned there were many water pipes under the place, many were pressurized, and most were covered in concreate.  He knew this would have to of been put in before the facially was used, especially because of the shortage of workers.  He now again noted the massive difference between the quality of the compound and how they had been treated while being rounded up, and entering the place.
Ben then followed Brice as they walked somewhere, still looking around.  The place now vaguely looked like a cross between a university campus, a nature persevere, and a large city pokemon park.  There were what appeared to be common areas for every different type, as well as a major center area that looked more geared towards humans.  He was unable to see inside the other type’s restricted areas.  He was again shocked by the size of the compound, especially sense it didn’t seem crowded at all, and really seemed to have less people per space then the area he lived in before.  It was only a small place on the island, and he doubted many people wanted the land on the island, as there were many stories about the island being cursed with strange creatures, although Brice said that no one he knew of had problems. (These rumors apply to strange creatures, and sometimes the workers will talk about it, but they never bother the infected, because after all they are rumors)
Ben could then see the building they were walking towards. It was a large structure with many doors on all sides, and they were walking towards a small section on the side with a much smaller door.  Off to the side, Ben saw a building that fit his original idea of what the facility was like.  This building was surrounded in multiple fences with razor wire on it, and even had a fenced roof.  Inside this there were rectangular containers that were attached together with big fans on the side, as long as its own generator and water tank. There was only a single entrance to the area, and it appeared to be a thick airlock.(RL note, think the buildings the RDA had in avatar).  Ben then asked Brice “who ends up in there?”.
Brice then replied “that’s where the workers stay during their time here” seeming a bit amused by the fact.
Ben knew a bit about the job they had, but never thought they would be the ones to lock themselves up in boxes for safety, but there were more infected on the island then workers.  A worker would stay on the island for a few weeks and would then be taken to a separate place for 2 months, and then they would go home for the rest of the year before having their shift again.  They were actually paid very well, and got more than half the year to themselves with still being paid.  (Although they don’t have enough workers to work this way, and that is why my character is made to help) although they risked getting infected and had to spend time in a separate quarantine to make sure they were not infected.   (One theory is also that the condition was caused by a certain level of exposer, but I don’t know how to fit this into the story cleanly right now)
He then got to the door with Brice and followed him, again noting that the handle would be unforgiving to someone with damaged hands.  Inside of the room there was a large board that had a bunch of names on it along with pieces of paper.  On the paper was jobs certain people had to do, and a few extra jobs that were not directly assigned to anyone, including “reset board in morning”.   There was also a fixed computer and screen off to the side a bit, along with various bags and tool that you might need during a job.  At first glance, it did not appear like they would be required to do tons of work and many jobs seemed simple, but he was still a bit annoyed that he had no say in this.  Brice then explained the permeant residents that had to do jobs around the compound were called “helpers” instead of workers, and that they had to come to this building to get their assigned jobs, although you did not always have a job to do during the day.  He also explained that although they had no choice here they did get paid in a way, and the computer on the side was where they could order things with their “points” they were given.
Ben then said “so they make us walk all the way here just to check a board” a bit irritated that he had to do these jobs without agreeing.  Even if he did like the idea of being able to get things from outside the compound.
Brice then replied “yes, but this is also the building were they give most people food at, so you would come here anyway”.
Ben then took out a sheet of paper with his name as well as instructions on it.  He again frowned when he found that most of the stuff on there was just telling him how to live and not really a job, expect for being food down into the deep pool in the water area.   Somehow sensing what he was thinking Brice said “yea, they kind of micromanage you for a few days, then you are pretty much left to do whatever you want as long as you finish your jobs, they do this to everyone new”.
Ben had never put much creditably to a “others do/go through this too” comments, and it did little to calm him.  In Bens head there were now 2 competing thoughts, one being him wanting to ensure at least 1 human worker gets infected by him, and the other being that it would be helpful to identify and separate the different factions that controlled this place.  The workers clearly acted like they hated everyone, and wanted you to be afraid to come near them.  The people that built the place and designed most of the items clearly cared a lot more, but there were also strange things incorporated into the designs of things.  There was also now clear evidence that they were going to push certain infected people to act and live a certain way, although only for a short period.  He would never have noticed it from designs alone, but it was now clear.  Someone had a major interest in making the infected live in the conditions of the creature they were becoming, and also wanting to make them act like then, or at least know how.  Although this was a bit creepy to interfere in people life like this, he did not know the exact reason, so he did not yet discredit them in his mind.   He could not tell if the person or persons did this because they thought the infected would need to learn to live that way, as most continued changing over time.  Or if it was the more sinister motive of people enjoying making the infected live like pokemon in some ways.  It could always be a combination of both…
There were other groups he thought he should add as well.  First, was the group of “helpers” he was now forced to join, along with the other infected, as even though they had no say in things, their actions would still have an impact.  The other major one he noted was the people funding the place, they gave the facility a lot of funding and because of this it was built up and had supplies, even if they had trouble finding workers willing to work around so many infected.  He knew this group was more world governments then people, and like the designers they got to “help” for a safe distance.  This group was obviously more concerned with containing the infected then their wellbeing, but had the resources to undertake huge projects, as many pokemon nations had not have problems in a long time.   There was a possibly that there were more groups involved, such as researchers or if the workers that rounded them up and worked at the facility were different groups.
He knew he would need time to get information though, so he went back to focusing on things around him and asked Brice “so how long do I have to deal with this then?” mildly angry.
Brice then explained “only for about 3 days, they really spell out exactly what you will do the first day, but the second and third are more what you can and cannot do, after that they normally leave you alone unless you get into trouble or undergo a major change… unless you are a flying type because then they are always a bit restrictive”
Ben then asked “so, what will they do if I refuse?” but did not really get a good answer.
A bell then interrupted them and Brice said that that meant they could start to go and get food, adding it was a good idea to go now in case you got lost trying to do your jobs.
The group then walked into the room.  There was no lock or check to enter, but Ben guessed it was unnecessary when everyone could get food at the same place.   Brice then told ben to follow him to a certain section.  By this point he was pretty sure that “makes sure the new guy does what he is supposed to” was on his little sticky note.  Ben had already read the pamphlet he was given, and for day 1 it told in exactly what he was supposed to take from the food carts.
Ben took a plate and held it with his thumb and the palm of his hand before walking over to the cart.  He still felt a bit weak form the past 2 days changes so he decided to follow the instructions to avoid a fight.  He first got the odd assortment of plants he was supposed to eat, he did not recognized most of them, but they looked like they grew in the water.  He then went over and took some of this fish he was supposed to take.  In reality, he liked to eat fish even before this, but he really did not want to pick this one, it still had scales and sometimes a head on it, and really did not look cooked, or fresh.  He then picked up a fork and followed Brice towards a table.  They arrived at a table close to the edge, and the machines that dispensed water.  The table they went to had fixed benches on it, but no backboard.  It appeared a bit older, and some others clearly avoided it.   Brice then said “not everyone can sit at this type of table, but they only realized it after putting them here, I can and I think you can so I picked this one”.
This made sense to Ben, and he understood the other reasons for the table choice, as it would be easy to get up and get water.  Although one thing did stand out to him,  he and Brice were both clean anthros, and they could sit here, but he knew his tail would still restrict the positions he could be in. as far as he could tell, there were few anthros like him in the facility, and this problem would of came up quickly.   He then asked Brice “by the way, how long have you been infected and lived here?” ignoring that it might be a bad question.
Brice then replied “ a bit over a year now, I was actually infected the day before my 18th birthday “ before a short silence, although he did not seem upset about the question.
Brice’s age surprised Ben a bit, he had thought he was younger as he was a good bit shorter then him.  After a second he realized that this was probably because of the changes rather than age, meaning Brice’s main body was partially changed.
He then looked at his plate of food again, it looked a bit like slimy goo, and he knew some people before this would probably feel sick from looking at it.  He decided to try a small piece of everything on the plate separately before eating it all, mostly because he was not aware what most of it was.  Using a fork was actually a bit trickier than he expected, as he had to move his webbing back or stretch it to allow the fork to fit, and he could not spread out his fingers or he would push it away.  He started with the various plants, which all tasted odd, but not really bad and he knew he would eat them all later.  He then found one plant he recognized part way through and stopped for a second. The plant stem was almost inedible to human, and could make many people sick, although it was not toxic.  Although humans rarely touched this plant, many water pokemon ate it regularly, including vaporeon.
Ben looked closely at the tick stems that were now in his hand, not sure if he really wanted to test how far his digestive system had changed.  Brice then looked up and upon seeing Ben commented “O yea, vaporeon eat that stuff don’t they” before looking away from it.  Ben wondered if he was every tricked into eating it, he was probably not forced, as buzzle did not normally eat it as it took some time to dislodge from underwater.
Ben then cautiously put the stem into his month and bit down.   At first it was completely horrible and he almost had to spit it out.  Although to his surprise, he also seemed to like it at the same time, as if it had another hidden flavor that made the whole thing work, although he knew it was probably that one side of his month was changed and the other was not.  He put the thing down then, wrestled with a strange desire to continue eating it.  He knew he was still very hungry as he had only eaten small pieces so far, but it was still odd for a food that almost made him gag.  Luckily for him, it seemed the strange side thoughts beat out most of the taste, and he could still eat the other food.  He put the stem on the table off his plate and said out loud “maybe later in life”.
He then finished up testing the plants and again noticed that his thoughts about the food was normally split with his human mind questing why he ate the food or hating the taste, but with some other part of him reacting to some flavor he would not recognize at first, and then pushing him to eat more of it.  His human thoughts did not seem to truly dislike most of it, and he would eat most of the food if he had nothing else.  The other feelings seemed to have a major effect on him here, and in realty caused him to finish and enjoy most of the plants.  Even if the thought differences were disorienting, and he was often left with a taste in his month that he hated and liked at the same time.  He had never noticed this effect before, but also had been given human food while traveling, and a vaporeon would probably think the same way about the tastes of that as a human would.
The room got a lot noisier after this point, as a lot of others came in.  There was now a pretty big crowd, but still not as big as the space could support.   He now also got the chance to observe a larger group of infected people and their conditions.   Anthros like him were very rare, and so apparently were complete pokemon, although he knew that not all of them could come, as most needed help to come here.  Although, there actually a lot of 4 legged pokemon in the cafeteria, and their friends brought them food and sat with them.  If you did not know that they were probably human at one point, it would seem really odd.   The vast majority of people were partially changed,  with many having a few features added to a human frame, like an arm or leg being changed, or both feet but not the legs.  there were also a few more crippling conditions, like people with one human leg and one pokemon leg, even if a few of them seemed to walk fine.  Most everyone had a tail of some sort, and other added features were common.  If he had to guess, he would say that most people were humans with 25-50% of their body changed to pokemon parts, although some had anthro parts.  There were the exceptions to this, like himself who was covered in pokemon flesh, but could still accomplish human tasks.  He also noted a few people that appeared to be anthros like himself, but in reality were partially changed with feral parts on them.  He also noted that most of the sat with pokemon of their own type and he asked Brice if it was always like that.
Brice then responded “only when new people arrive, it goes back to normal in a while” before going back to eating.
(note there should be a lot more characters here)
Ben then finished eating the fish he had, again noting that their tastes and his enjoyment/desire to eat more did not really line up.
(I wanted more here) (also the human workers stand back a distance and walk away if you go near them, and only come up to replace things in a cart when they have to, and then going away quickly)
(… I am really stuck now, I will just explain the next area, after all I am redoing this entire story, but I need to explain the facility on the off chance someone else would help)
(
The next part involves my character walking back and then going to the deep location, once there he has to go in and take the bag of food to the people living underwater. After swimming for a reasonable distance he finds the aquatic location and has to pass an underwater fence to get in.  He ends up seeing the goldeen person from before and can commutate with her for a short time, but can’t say much without going for air as he still needs air to talk.  He feeds her and a few others before decideing to explore some more himself.  He finds that the underwater area was also separated into sections like the ground areas, with the main area that Brice told him about being close to the water zone, and a separate deep section that was almost underground, he had to travel though a dimly lit tunnel to get to the second section, and would never been able to go through it in one breath.  Inside this area there appears to be another more permeant underwater compound,  this was separated into a built up compound that was completely submerged ,  while inside he encounters and other fish pokemon who tells him about some rules for the place, and that the new fish arrivals were not even brought into the main area on their first day so that they could be told things, despite this and through minor details ben’s presence was completely ok as he was a “ground” water type, dispite being able to get o2 from the water.  The place was not completely man made and had some crystal producing light inside the craven, there was also a complete lack of air pockets inside this location.  As he leaves he notices that there are other tunnels he is not allowed to go through at the moment, and remembers that some people can be infected with non-pokemon cells)

PLEASE READ THE DESCRIPTION
this whole thing is a draft

this is the last part i will make before retypeing the entire thing to clean it up, this is about as far as i can go on my own, and i hope to get other people to help/join this story line

fav.me/dbk95ue has more details

I called this a draft after a while, as i was stuck on a few things, but needed to paint a basic picture of the island compound to ask people, i am going to redo the other parts... ... hopefully this was not a waste of time

Maybe I can help with this. I havent read this one yet, but I read the first two parts. The Pretail in part 1 reminded me on a guy on 'Body Bizarre' with a giant scrotum
